Am I mistaken but isn't there only one race...the human race?
Why is it such a big deal to date outside of the color of one's skin? It seems in American one of the largest gaps with interracial dating is between White Americans and African Americans.
This Article details the struggle Black women who only desire to date other black men have. What is really odd to me is Black people in America come from different backgrounds; nevertheless they are all labeled as African Americans. Black people in America could have been born in an African, Caribbean, European, and various other countries...however they fall under the same category of African American when they become a citizen of the United States.
So when Black women or men are stating that they only want to date African Americans I believe they are stating that they just want to date someone of the same skin color. That is so weird!!!! I understand wanting to date someone of the same religion and culture; however limiting yourself to dating someone on the basis of their skin color is really INTERESTING!
I hope people will one day soon, (because seriously it is 2011), will look pass skin color and fall in love with a soul.
I agree 100 percent. I really get bothered by the idea that the people & the media present that black women have hard time finding a successful black man to marry. I guess if that's your preference, fine. But I think people of all races who limit themselves to dating within the race are missing out on some great individuals.
